By Market:
Presque Isle: WAGM has seen some changes; No more weekend newscast at all due to economy, increased no broadcasts due to sport delays and as with most problems in TV at this point, the economy. The station also lost Sports/News/Reporter/Anchor, Tyler Pyburn to a start-up called Bay State Game Day (It's on FB if you'd like to check it out, by just searching the name). But the station has hired new reporters Chris Weimer, to take Tyler's place, and Randi Nissenbaum; to be a reporter/anchor. The station also lost Angela DiMillo to WABI (check out WABI post for more).
Bangor:
WLBZ: The station has stayed amazingly stable but has had a few changes:
- Departures: Kara Matuszewski: Main Anchor; (Not going to be replaced for now), Chris Facchini is going to be soloing the 5 & 6PM for a while ( I hear). Now at WBZ (in an off-air role).
- Scott Sassone- Reporter; Now in an off-air role at Comcast Sports Net in Boston, in an off-air role. (Yes, Kara is married to Scott and she moved to be closer to him).
- John Smist-Sports Director and reporter/fill-in anchor at WCSH). Now at WECT as the weekend sports anchor. His position hasn't been filled anchor wise but has been reporting wise (more at WCSH section).
- Hires: Jackie Ward and Michael DeSumma to be reporters (aka multimedia journalists as 2 calls them).
WABI: Not a ton of changes but some:
Comings:
- Jared Plushnick- Weekend Weather Anchor (Replaced Greg Dutra).
- Meghan Heyward- Reporter/Photographer
- Rob Poindexter- Reporter
- Angela DiMillo- Weekend Anchor/Reporter, Joined from WAGM (Replaced Amy Erickson).
Coming soon posts from Portland and the rest of NE. Keep watching!
